Business plans provide a strong foundation for your business and can help you identify the resources needed during set-up and operation. This session will guide you through developing a business plan and demonstrate why proper planning is an essential tool for any small business operator.

Who it's for
Anyone who:

- is in the early stages of starting their business
- needs to secure external funding (eg. loan, grants, equity investment)
- already has a business but wants to develop a plan to clarify their thinking and look for new opportunities.

No previous business knowledge is required to attend this workshop.

This workshop covers:

- what should be included in your plan and why
- how a marketing plan fits into your business plan
- why you need a financial strategy
- how a SWOT analysis will help you identify your business opportunities.

You’ll receive a practical workbook that will form a draft plan for your own business, sample business plans, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Want to create professional looking promotional images for social media? Or create a branded poster, flyer, menu or price list for your business?

Bring your laptop and learn how to use Canva. This beginner level presentation will help you understand the basics of branding and show you how to use Canva to maintain consistency across all media for successful brand recognition.

You do not need a Canva account or any experience with Canva. But good computer skills are required to follow this presentation.

This workshop covers:
-Basics of good branding
-Key design elements - colours, fonts, pixels, file types
-Canva features overview
-Canva demonstration
-Customising templates
-Printing considerations
-Set Up Your Brand Kit (logo, colours, fonts)
-Create a graphic

What to Bring
-Your laptop (we will provide free WiFi access)
